GASH: Collect Tokens and Impress the Girl of Your Dreams in this N64-Esque Platform Game

GASH and the Ultimate Boner is a third-person adventure and platform game that was produced by SuperLair and published on March 6th of this year. In the game you control GASH, an overworked, underpaid skeleton. One day he meets the girl of his dreams and, to win her over, embarks on a journey to collect elusive Hag Tokens.

GASH is another one of those successive endeavors to create a game that pays homage to the Nintendo 64 console and its games. We have here a game in the good old "collect-a-thon" style that has inspirations from the famous Rare games of that time, especially the Banjo-Kazooie franchise and, due to the funny language that GASH uses, Conker's Bad Fur Day. In aesthetics, the game emulates the entire look of console games in an impressive way, with all that look and filter that those who played a lot know very well. The soundtrack and dialogue are very good, once again showing the source they drew inspiration from. The gameplay, although using modern conventions, still has the same style as the games mentioned above: you have a large area, where you collect various things along the way (as are the Jiggies for Banjo and Coins for Super Mario 64).

Perhaps the only complaint about the game to make is that it is short (about an hour only). It would be really nice if there were more games using the N64 aesthetic that were a little longer. The game is available on the platform. Check out the gameplay of GASH and the Ultimate Boner and, if you're interested, download the game. Just click on the respective links below.
