KAIKAN: a frantic vertical scrolling japanese shmup with top-down view.

Kaikan is a 2d top down shoot 'em up game developed by Zakichi where you select between four spaceships in a vertical shooter with automatic scroll looking to destroy different enemies and bosses in a frantic game where you collect items left by enemies to get the best score in the best Japanese shmup style.

The game has very well done 2d visuals, with detailed spriteart mainly on bosses and use of sprite scaling on explosions. The game also features an addictive gameplay where you pick up as many items as left by enemies while dodging a barrage of bullets with your overpower shot in multiple stages filled with powerful ships and bosses.
