Vomitoreum is a first-person shooting indie game created by scumhead and released on the "itch.io" website on January 1st this year. In the game, you control a Nephilem, created through the science of the Masons, one of the three main groups that faced and defeated Vomitoreum many years ago. You will explore the ruins of a world that has been completely afflicted by the mist expelled by Vomitoreum, turning the majority of the population into deformed monsters. It is up to you to defeat it and bring a cure to fight the infection.
The game was built using the old Doom engine, so you can expect gameplay similar to that of Doom, although with some changes here and there. The look of the game was inspired by the artistic works of the Polish Zdzisław Beksiński (1929-2005), where there is a mixture of the surreal and the scary. The soundtrack is more environmental and matches the peculiar climate of this world.
The game has some Dark Souls inspirations and is in Metroidvania style, as in Metroid Prime, for example, that is, you have a huge world to explore, with the search for items that will help you overcome obstacles that you couldn't before.
The game is currently in the demo phase. You can check the gameplay by clicking here and, if you are interested, you can download the game from the link below:
