An impressive overhaul! Sonic Robo Blast: Knothole Coast Demo.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 has been a loved game and one of the first Sonic fangames to show beautiful graphics at that time. It was produced by Sonic Team Junior and continues receiving updates today. Unfortunately, the first game of this series, created by Sonikku in 1998 had a horrible and bizarre visual, not being very attractive to anyone that has played SRB2 and has curiosity in play the first game.
But a new version of this game received a demo that was shown on SAGE 2020. We are talking about a full overhaul of this game, presenting a visual that remembers the Sega Genesis era. Although this demo has only one available stage, Knothole Coast Zone, the game shows the good and old Sonic running fast, but with some new features, like some kind of double jump and the wind shield, that permits to glide for a few seconds. But this demo presented some flaws too, the most apparent being the monitors and badniks entering in other sprites sometimes.
The music is cool but is very away from the memorable styles seen in official games or even fangames like the LakeFeperd's After and Before the Sequel. Despite that, the game shows the potential to serve as a good chapter on the Robo Blast series, obfuscating Sonikku's version.

Sonic Robo Blast 2 têm sido um jogo muito querido pelos fãs do ouriço e foi um dos primeiros fangames de Sonic a apresentar gráficos bonitos para a época, tendo sido produzido pelo Sonic Team Junior e recebendo atualizações até hoje. O primeiro jogo, criado por Sonikku e lançado em 1998, infelizmente era visualmente horrível e bizarro, não sendo muito atrativo para quem jogou o 2 e têm curiosidade em saber do primeiro jogo.
Porém uma nova versão do primeiro jogo recebeu uma demo que foi mostrada na SAGE 2020. Estamos falando de uma repaginada total do jogo, apresentando um visual que lembra muito a era do Mega Drive. Com apenas uma única fase disponível, a Knothole Coast, o jogo apresenta o bom e velho Sonic correndo pra lá e pra cá, mas com um ou dois diferenciais, sendo eles uma espécie de pulo duplo e o escudo de vendo, permitindo planar por alguns segundos. Entretanto, por se tratar de uma demo, apresenta algumas falhas, a mais observável sendo os monitores e os badniks entrando em alguns sprites.
A música é legal, mas tá um pouco aquém dos padrões vistos em jogos oficiais do ouriço ou até mesmo de fangames como After e Before the Sequel. Apesar disso, o jogo apresenta um bom potencial para servir como um bom capítulo na série Robo Blast, podendo ofuscar a versão criada por Sonikku.
