ASCENDANCE: A Horror Game where You Must Investigate a Strange Location and Regain Your Memory

Ascendance is a short indie first-person psychological horror game that was produced by Niven Hedinger and published on March 13rd of that year, being made available on the itch.io platform. According to gamedev, Ascendance was inspired by a horror short called "Unindentified", and in the game, you control a person known only as "Passenger 2", who after a long air journey, wakes up after the plane has landed. However, when crossing the door towards the exit of the airport, you discover that something is wrong, when you find yourself in a strange place, dark and empty. It's up to you to find the four tapes and find out more about this strange place.

In terms of visuals, the game has very simple graphics, which indicates that it is a gamedev that is starting its first works with game creation. If we take this context into account, the game is well produced, even very functional. It's worth remembering that Hedinger created another game that we cover here on the channel, Mote, which shares the same level of quality. The gameplay is more like a "walking simulator": you just walk around the scene looking for clues and collecting the tapes to find out more about yourself and the place you are in.
