ASHES: AFTERGLOW: Survive the Most Terrible Dangers of a Post-Apocalyptic World in this FPS Game

Ashes: Afterglow is a first-person shooter action game that was produced by Vostyok and published on the ZDoom forum. The game is a Total Conversion of Doom II, that is, Ashes: Afterglow is a completely new game created using the "wad" file of Doom II as a base. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York. Nuclear explosions devastated the world, turning it to ruins. All world governments no longer exist, and now what reigns in this place is the law of the strongest. With that, Earth has become a home to mutants, bloodthirsty gangs and innocent people looking to survive in the midst of it all. You control a Scavenger, who seeks to find the artifacts of the old world and tries to put food on the table, preferably in one piece. Your mission is simple: try to find a way to escape this hell, even if you have to kill for it.

Afterglow is the sequel to the first game, "Ashes: 2063", and follows the same rhythm as its predecessor: a story heavily inspired by 80s films with a post-apocalyptic theme (mainly the Mad Max saga), and a brilliant soundtrack, which has influences from John Carpenter. Although it has many features of the first game, Afterglow has some new features, starting with the map itself: it features a huge map that works as a HUB, and is interconnected to other maps, which would be the stages, in the style of classic games of the genre like HeXen and Strife. Just like in Strife, you meet people and talk to them, looking for some information, items or even weapon customization, which is a huge evolution compared to 2063. The graphics are very well done and the gameplay is typical of the games of the same kind. time, although powered by the GZDoom engine.
