ATTACK ON TITAN: EXODUS: Find Your Way Home in this Game Inspired by a Worldwide Hit Anime
Attack on Titan: Exodus is a short indie simulation game with a slight horror twist that was produced by Robin's Nest and apparently released on July 27th, 2021. The game is based on the worldwide phenomenon Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人, Shingeki no Kyojin), a Japanese manga and anime work created by Hajime Isayama and takes place at the exact moment when the titans attacked the city of Shiganshina, after part of the wall was destroyed by the Colossal Titan. You control an unknown member of the Garrison Corps (one of the three military forces in the anime, alongside the Survey Corps and the Military Police) who has gone to face the titans alongside his companions. However, the attack was in vain, and not only were his companions devoured, but also his horses and three-dimensional mobility equipment were destroyed. Now you, as a completely unarmed survivor, must find a way to run north, in hopes of reaching Wall Rose.
Attack on Titan: Exodus is a "walking simulator", where you just walk around and explore certain places, looking for items and even solving puzzles. The game was conceived by gamedev as a learning project about Unreal Engine 4, as well as being obviously fan work. In terms of graphics, the game is very well done. The looks of both the character and the titans are well produced, albeit with minor flaws. In the end, the game serves more as a sort of side story to the original story, as there are even a few references to one character or another and even key locations in the series.
At the end of the day, Attack on Titan: Exodus is a simple game, but maybe it's for those who like the work itself and want to see something more related to the original work, even if it's made by fans.
