DON'T ANSWER: A Short Horror Game About a Murder in his Family's Cabin
Updated: May 6
Don't Answer is a short indie first-person horror simulation game that was produced by Skybox Interactive and published on May 4th of this year on the itch.io platform. Don't Answer tells the story of Jimmy, who went through a traumatic experience in his childhood: his entire family was murdered, inside his house, by a "Mailman". Jimmy only managed to survive by hiding from the killer and, soon after, being rescued by the police. After seventeen years, Jimmy, now a young adult, continues to live in the same family home as a way of honoring them. In addition, the trauma of the loss has led him to relentlessly investigate, looking for clues that could lead him to his family's killer. But someone is watching him... from the dark... who could it be?
After playing the Don't Answer demo, we now see the full version here, and right away we can already see some differences, ranging from new cutscenes to even different images and scenarios. The aesthetic remains the same, but with a little more dark, to give an accurate tone of horror. The look remains the same, a low-poly style with a filter that serrated everything, making it look like some PSX game. The gameplay is also simple: you can walk, run, jump, look with the Mouse and interact, however, if there is a flaw to be raised here, it would be the use of the pistol. Unfortunately, the pistol is only used as a mere optional resource, since the whole situation occurs only in a simulative way, without enemies to kill, among other things.
The game has two endings, which are accessed according to the final dialogue. One, titled "True", which shows who Jimmy really is, and another, titled "Bad" which is the bad ending. These routes depend precisely on your choices at any given time. Check out the gameplay of Don't Answer (with the two endings) on our channel and, if you're interested, download the game from the itch.io page. It is worth remembering that we had already made some video of this game, but the previous video was a demo, which is not the case here. The respective links are below.
