Down Beneath is a first-person indie horror game produced by Bored Leviathan and published on July 15th of this year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". In Down Beneath, you wake up in an unfamiliar room, not knowing how and why you ended up there. Your objective is to find a way out of that place. But you are not alone, whereas a monstrous being is on the prowl, seeking to kill you.
The game is very short, and can be completed in a few minutes. The graphics are very well produced, with amazing textures and use of light and shadows. The gameplay, however, is simple and is typical of many games in the genre. As a matter of fact, Down Beneath is a very basic first-person horror game: here you have use of flashlights, tense atmosphere, doors to be activated or deactivated and a huge and terrifying monster to lose, with the right to jumpscare when caught by him. It's the sheer basics of today's horror games, just like that.
