EYE SORE: Explore a Hell-Scape by Plucking Out Your Eyeballs in this Puzzle Platformer
Eye Sore is a short indie first-person puzzle and platform game produced by MaidAndReady within 48 hours for the CPGD Spring Game Jam under the theme "Eye of the Beholder" and published on May 8th of this year, on the itch.io platform. In Eye Sore, you find yourself in a bizarre labyrinth located in a kind of hell (apparently). To escape this hellish challenge, you'll have to pluck out your eyeballs, each of which has different abilities.
What we have here is a very simple puzzle game in terms of both graphics and gameplay. The visual aesthetic is quite interesting, despite the graphics not being so realistic. Filters also help with aesthetic composition and even help you discern which eyeball you are currently using. The gameplay, on the other hand, has a simulative behavior, but the point that stands out the most here is precisely the use of eyeballs. In addition to the normal eye, you can access the red eye, which allows you to see things where they can't be seen by the naked eye, the green eye, which serves as a key to open doors, and the purple eye, which allows you to double jump. The combination of these eyes can help you a lot to escape this maze.
It would be interesting if the game could be worked on to become something much more interesting, but that will only depend on the developer himself.
