RUFF NIGHT AT THE GALLERY: A Comedic Game Where You Visit a Gallery Haunted by Dog Paintings

Ruff Night at the Gallery is an indie game that can be considered Spoopy (an internet slang meaning something scary and funny at the same time). It was produced by CaseyDonnellanGames (with the help of some contributors) and with a prototype version published on October 26, 2020, and updated on November 30 of the same year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". In the game, you explore an art gallery. By yourself. At night. What could be a scary thing actually turns into something funny when you learn that the gallery contains paintings of... dogs. But maybe you should worry a little bit, as the paintings are haunted, and it's up to you to find the keys to the place to escape the gallery.

The game is very simple and works with the cute and the haunting at the same time. It is worth remembering here that the game was produced for a Game Jam with a focus on Spoopy, the Shock and Awwww Game Jam. At first you are startled by the sudden appearances, but then you end up finding it funny and strangely cute. Graphically, the look is excellent, and the paintings are very well done, being a parody of the best known paintings in the world, such as "The Scream" by Munch or the classic Self-Portrait by Van Gogh. The idea of the game is to go through the entire gallery finding keys and avoiding getting caught by the ghostly manifestations of the paintings until you reach the exit point.
