A Promising and Fun Retro Platform Game About a Bat, Ghosts, and Teapots.

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

"Teabat!" is a retro platform indie game that shown itself as a great surprise and a promising project, as well as being indispensable for everyone that is a fan of retro and platform games. In "Teabat!" you're a nice little guardian bat of Camomile Forest, that had your entire tea collection stolen by ghosts.

The plot seems very simples, and indeed it is, but this is nothing is negative if we take the note that is a platform game whose fun is based on exploration. I'm not lying, it's very fun collecting teapots in all areas. In visual aspects, the game remembers the Game Boy or Sega's Game Gear games so much, since that action occurs on a single little screen with a map above and info on both sides. In certain moments, the game provides a stunning pseudo-3D visual as in the same style of Traveler's Tales Games, like Mickey Mania and Sonic 3D Blast.

The collected tea has the same value as money in this game, as you spend them in marketplaces you find in the areas. You can buy certain abilities that visually improve the game, like the Spectral Lens, that allows altering the world's view, and additional palettes, that alter the colors of the game. The soundtrack is very enjoyable and gives much fun, combining with the magical world of the game. But I believe that the soundtrack could be composed entirely on chiptune, which would bring more impact on the game.

To this present moment, the game is in the demo version, available on both PCs and Android Mobiles. You can see the gameplay right here and download the demo by clicking on the link below:
