NECRONIGHTMARE: Possessing the Necronomicon Will Lead You Down Sinister Paths in This Horror Game

NecroNightmare is a short indie horror game produced by T.K. Midnight is published on October 8th this year, on the indie gaming platform itch.io. NecroNightmare doesn't have a defined plot, so what we're going to present here for "plot" comes from interpretation of the gameplay and the game's own page on itch.io: You're a guy apparently fond of horror movies, and on a night like that, alone at home, watching a good movie, you decide to enter a mysterious basement where the famous Necronomicon, the book of the dead, is located. When you pick it up, you end up being transported to strange places with strange events happening.

According to T.K. Midnight, this is his first job as a game creator and developer. With that in mind, the game is quite interesting, as it was made by just one person. The graphics try to simulate a look a la PSX, which was nice as a final result. The gameplay is simple and fits very well with the proposal to bring a horror experience. But in general terms, the game could have a few more things going on, even if it's a jumpscare to give some scares here and there.

There really isn't much to talk about NecroNightmare. Not bad for a beginner gamedev, especially considering that there are a lot of projects on itch.io that are released that have a questionable quality. It remains to wait how the evolution and learning of the creator of NecroNightmare will be in the next games.
