What makes MOTHER: Encore truly unique is that it is not a simple port or enhancement. It has been built entirely from the ground up using the powerful Godot Engine. Every facet of the game has been reimagined and rebuilt. Players will experience a completely new battle system, stunning modern graphics, a richer story, and updated mechanics that smooth out the quirks of the Famicom original. Furthermore, a fully reworked soundtrack, a brand new overworld, and revised dungeons ensure that even veterans of the original game will find surprise and delight at every turn.

Currently, MOTHER: Encore is in development, but you can jump into the adventure right now. The game is being released episodically. As of this moment, the current release contains Acts 1 and 2, which includes everything from the initial story beats. While Act 2 contains everything from Act 1 as a seamless package, the development team is planning on releasing a total of eight Acts. Each upcoming Act will be a simple content update that adds new areas directly to your existing game, creating a seamless, uninterrupted experience by the time the entire project is completed in a few years.
