THE CHROMATIC SHIELD: Make Your Way with Your Shield in a Metroidvania Inspired by Amiga Games

The Chromatic Shield is a Metroidvania-style indie action and platform game produced by LtCoyote and with a prototype version published on March 3rd this year, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". In the game, you control a great warrior, who merged with his armor through magic, to defeat the Nameless Evil and his armies and save the planet from Tragr, his home. However, during the war, both you and Nameless Evil, as well as several armies were swallowed up by the earth. After several years, you return to life, though only as an armor, to fight once again against Nameless Evil and save the world.

The game has a look that is very reminiscent of Amiga games, a 16/32 bit computer from the 80s and 90s. The Chromatic Shield exudes this computer, from sprites and colors to audio. The gameplay has influences from games in the best Metroidvania style, that is, you activate mechanisms that are used to open doors in other places and find skills that improve your shield, in addition to finding energy boost points.

The game is currently in the prototype phase. It has a good potential to be a great Metroidvania, even more using a visual style that appeals to the 80's and 90's era. Check out The Chromatic Shield's gameplay on this link here and take the opportunity to download the prototype by clicking on the "itch.io":
