SANCTIFIED: Find the Whereabouts of Your Wife and Child in a Ghoulish Hotel in this Horror Game

Sanctified is a first-person indie horror game produced by ToothandClaw (the same behind Harmful) and published on July 31, 2019, with an update made on July 4, 2020, on the indie gaming platform "itch.io". In Sanctified, you control a guy who has apparently been in an accident and wakes up in someone's car, which takes him to an old hotel. Along the way, you discover that your wife and child are missing, and that there may be some relationship with someone who is called "Father" by the tenants there. You soon realize that there is something wrong with that place and decide to find a way out of the hotel, and find your family.

The game was produced for a Game Jam hosted by the famous retro horror community "Haunted PS1" in 2019, the Summer Spooks. In terms of graphics, Sanctified presents an interesting retro look that doesn't necessarily appeal to the familiar style of PSX games, but has a certain charm that works very well with the tension atmosphere proposed here. As for the gameplay, there's nothing to say: it's very simple and just consists of moving around using the WASD keys, and interacting using the Mouse buttons, in addition to using the mouse as a Camera. The game's narrative is built by the player (or theorized, let's say) from notes scattered throughout the scenarios, leading to some interpretations that may vary depending on the player.

The game is very short and can be completed in a few minutes. It also features two endings, which happen depending on the player's choice to follow a certain path in a certain part of the game.
